Barlick Beach

Barnoldswick’s covered popup beach in the town centre – sand and seaside feel in the heart of the hills!

Running from 29th July to 23rd August 2024, on the Town Square.

It’s nearly 20 years since the first ‘Barlick Beach’ in Barnoldswick. Over the years, the summer event has grown from lasting just a week to a month full of family-friendly activities in the heart of the town.

In 2024, Barnoldswick’s Beach will be open on the Town Square from Monday 29th July to Friday 23rd August, Monday to Saturday, with sand and activities on a daily basis.

We are also running our Beach Market’s on Saturday 10th and 17th August where local vendors will be selling their wonderful wares.

With Barnoldswick Town Square’s popular new vibe as a food court, there will be tables and chairs with a great alfresco feel (although there’ll still be some covered space).

There’s a marquee over the sand beach, so seaside style fun can be enjoyed whatever the weather.

There will be lots of free activities for the whole family including crafts each Tuesday with the team from Holy Trinity Church from 12-3.30pm and each Thursday morning there will be stories and crafts, in the library, from 10.45am until 12 noon.

Back, due to popular demand, the donkey’s will be visiting on Friday 2nd, 9th and 16th of August from 11am – 3pm so come down for a FREE Donkey ride!

We also have performances from Jess and her team on Wednesday 31st July and 7th August from 11-11.30am and Charlotte and her cheer team on Friday 16th August from 11.30am – 1pm.

West Craven Leisure will be hosting lots of activities each Thursday too.

The town centre has free parking, free public toilets and baby changing, plus a fish and chip shop and lots of cafes offering drinks, meals, ice creams, takeaways and picnic boxes.  There’s also a great selection of shops and bars.
